Sales Are Up, Profits Are Down

Files under PSP | Posted by Mase

More PSPs are being sold, which should be great news for Sony. Unfortunately, their profits are shrinking. With the economy so difficult, individuals don’t want to pay as much for the things that they are buying, and they can’t afford to buy as much as they normally would. With that being the case they are looking for ways to get what they want for less.

The PSP, though, is a strong point for a company that has seen profits sliding away. Sony makes a lot of things, but most of them are things that people can do without and have to do without when times are tough. With that being the case it only makes sense that profits would dip lower when the economy is in trouble and when people don’t have as much disposable income to dispose of for games and and other things to play with.

However, the PSP is so popular that people are still buying them regardless of the economy and it’s one bright spot for Sony to hang onto until sales of other items start to recover as well.
