Just a heads up here. If you check out the Japanese PSP site, you’ll see that Sony has released the official PSP FW 3.73.

Anyway, words out that HellDashX, the dude who’s a freaking genious, has rolled out a new build for his custom firmware otherwise known as HX. We hear that there aren’t many changes.

… But for reasons which cannot be shared, he will keep it under wraps for now.

Anyway, some members in our community tell us Sony improved the stability of UMD driving with this update because of the unexpected freeze which has been reported on the former version during UMD loading on PSP title. (Could it have been someone from our community who notified them? Hmmm)

This is news to me, and perhaps news to you.

Let me explain.

You see, I’ve got a friend who loves Duke Nukem. And when he’s sleeping, I’m sure he’s dreaming about it. (Guess that’s the reason his gf left him or something.)

Anyway, over a game of Duke, he let me know of the ongoing Duke Nukem 3D port in development for Sony’s PlayStation Portable. I don;t know where he gets his info from, but it is cool.

You see, he tells me MrPeanut’s most recent release is build 97(hotfix). (And MrPeanut, if you’re reading this, you got a cool name!)

Anyway, I read somewhere, he has provided tools to fix the voice pitch.

No longer will Duke sound like me when I talk to girls, when he throwing money at the strippers.

I’ve bundled the pitch fixer tools (Duke3DPSP_Pitchfixer_2.zip) in the same zip archive. Please read “READTHISNOW.TXT” to understand the patching procedure.

It freaks me out every now and again when I find out who is in our community. You see, there’s some real hardcore PSP dudes. Now, normally, I’m not one for dropping names and stuff, but I have to drop a name.

You see, people ask me all the time why I put this blog up. And you know what?

I did this for myself realy. You see, I’m a regular dude with a bad memory. So this site was supposed to be a place where I keep stuff. Like a personal collection of the best psp stuff I find. So I don’t forget where I got them from. (My friends call me a girl and say it’s like my “diary” or something. Well… SCREW THEM!!! :))

Anyway, my personal “boomark” site is turning just a little bit bigger than what I would have like. I didn’t mean it to be like that. And that’s why I freak out.

You see, I got an email from POop yesterday.

Now if you don’t know who he is, let me tell you. POoP came up with the “green machine” theme you probably put on your PSP. (The one in the last post.)

And this dude is like awesome.

Anyway, he has put out another theme which you got to get.

Looks awesome doesn’t it. And it’s easy to put on your psp.

I’m sorry I didn’t post yesterday, but I’ve had huge amounts of members of our community ask me if I knew of this on the net.

Now if you’re wondering what “this” is, then let me share with you.

You see, I keep getting emails if I know of a SEGA Saturn emulator out there for the PSP. Now, I know I post stuff on the psp and all, but there’s some stuff which I don’t know about. Like the Sega Saturn emulator.

You see, I’m a regular dude just like you. But I guess I just happen to have “magical” psp powers or soemthing. (Ok, just joking about the powers. But if I did have powers, I’d want xray vision. And you know why! lol)

Anyway, as friends do, I spent a bit of time searching around the net for a Sega Saturn emulator for you.

And you know what? I found one for you.

You see, they call it Yabause. And it’s an early test version which is developing into a full-fledged SEGA Saturn emulator for the Psp.

Now the installation follows the same steps as any other homebrew application or game. But I got to say I haven’t put this on my psp. And the reason why is because I don’t want to put the sega saturn emulator on my psp.

Anyway, that doesn’t mean you don’t want to put it on your PSP.

So here’s where you can get it.

You see, you need to have a 1.50 kernel compiled version, as well a build for cfw 3.xx. And you’ll need to obtain the SEGA Saturn BIOS by using those resourceful Googling skills you have. Once you found them, rename to “saturn.bin” and copy the 512KB BIOS file to your mem sticks, under PSP/GAME/yabause or PSP/GAME150/yabause — depending which version you downloaded.

Anyway, I hope it’s worth it. And for all those people who asked me to find it for them.

Here’s some sad news that have to share wth you. You see, it’s sad because this dude has done some major stuff in the homebrew scene.

Anyway, NIGathan is waving goodbye to the PSP homebrew scene, but not without leaving us a lil somethin’ somethin’ to enjoy. You see, despite the fact it’s not totally finished, it is the final release.

And there’s actually a sad story behind NIGathan’s final space shooter. Anyway, instead of me telling you about it, let me show you what he said.

This is my final release of NIGathan’s Shootuh because I no longer own a PSP. It was stolen from me this Sunday 11/18/07. Yes this is an unfinished release but it does have many updates and no known bugs. There is no way I can finish it at this time, so instead I’m releasing what I have. I expected to add a lot more but I couldn’t continue working on it without my own PSP. With this final release I am saying goodbye to the PSP Homebrew Scene. I would also like to thank everyone who supported and helped me as a PSP Homebrew developer.

Changelog:

• Fixed bug causing the enemy to spawn above the slow-mo meter off of the screen.
• Added a “Kill Streak” counter which counts how ever many enemies you kill before you die.
• Added an increasing difficulty based on the kill streak, every 15 kills in a row the difficulty will increase.
• Added more slow-mo power ups (I never got a chance to actually randomize this so it will always appear in the same place.)
• Fixed bug causing your bullets to home on enemies even if its paused.
• Fixed background image so the shrinking is more noticeable.
• Added a secret cheat menu. To access make sure you are in the main menu, whether you just started the game or if you paused it and pressed triangle, and press these following buttons one at a time in this order R, Left, Down, Square, Triangle. The cheats can be disabled by clicking on cheats (I never got a chance to actually create the menu so when you activate it they are automatically enabled) The cheats that have been added are:
  • Hyper Speed, lets you move a little faster than normal.
  • Super Homing Missiles, makes your bullets home twice as fast.
  • Infinite Lives.
  • Infinite Slow-Mo.
• Fixed homing missiles so they home on enemies more reasonably. (I never got a chance to perfect this but it is better than the last release.)

• I’m sure if there are more updates but as I stated earlier I cant look at it while writing this so I’m just going to leave it at this.

Hey guys.

Before I tell you about “Yacc”, I want you to do something for me. You see, I want you to try and pay no attention to the new blog design we got going on. You see, the reason why we are changing the design si because members of our community have asked us to get with the times.

… To make the blog more “Web 2.0″ or something. (Whatever that means!)

So, with the help of Matey, and a few other dudes, we are in the final stages of completing the blog.

Anyway, things may look a little funny and some links may not work. If you do come across this, BLAME Matey!!! (Ok, maybe not blame him. But give him “shite” for it!!!

Anyway, now I got that clear, here’s something really cool for you.

You see, kapoue3’s “Yet Another CSO Compressor” (YACC) is, as you know, the acting Windows front end for CiscoPlus. My friends say it’s the coolest, most in style way to compress your ISO images!

Anyway, the latest version bundles a lot of internal changes and improvements to the overall process.

Kapoue3 has also added a system information tabsheet for Windows XP and higher. You’ll notice two new skins courtesy of yourpsp.ir and Dorian8821.

The translations have been further revamped; specifically Persian by yourpsp.ir.

A lot of time has been spent implementing an Arabic character set in a non-Unicode Yacc.

So kudos to everyone involved, you guys rock!

Sorry for the lack of posts in the last few days. But I got sick eating a hotdog my friend cooked me on Friday night. (No, I wasn’t eating THAT type of hot dog, you sicko!) And I’m not asking any sympathy or something!

Anyway, today I want to show you how to enable PS3 remote start here. You see, there’s a few PSP and PS3 owners in our community. And you’re gonna find this really cool. You see, I’ve showed this to a few friends already, and THEY were sort of shocked. I guess I didn’t think it was THAT big a deal.

But hey! If it’s gonna help you, then that’s what I wanna do. You see, that’s what friends do right?

Well, if your PS3 is fresh at fw ver 2.00, while you’re running Dark_AleX’s latest PSP 3.71M33-3 fw; then here’s what you gotta do.

Steps:

Download ofw 3.72
Download M33_NEWPSARDUMPER
Open Usb connection and put 3.72 eboot (rename it to EBOOT.PBP) in root of mem stick
Put PSARDUMPER in Game (3.71 kernal)
Run Psardumper
Press Square
After it’s done dumping, open USB Connection and copy premo_plugin.prx (f0\vsh\module) and premo_plugin.rco (f0\vsh\resource) and paste them somewhere for safe keeping
You can delete the folder now.
Open recovery menu on PSP (right bumper and turn on with PSP still connected to PC)
Go to advanced
Select Toggle USB (flash0)
A new window should pop up on your PC
Make sure you have hidden files and system files viewable
Replace premo_plugin.prx (vsh\module) and premo_plugin.rco (vsh\resource) with the ones you copied
Select Toggle USB (flash0) to disable
Restart PSP

You know, that’s all you gotta do. And if you do this, it will let the psp use 3.72 remote play on 3.71.

Dax say it should work.

Anyway, while you’re out and about, you can remotely turn on your PS3 from any available wifi spot, access your stored media — jam some tunes, show your buddies the [nasty] pics of the ex — whatever you desire, turn your PS3 back off or begin folding , and it’s a done dollar.

Ok. So lots of you keep asking for more themes. Anyway, here’s a hot one for you.

Please make sure you read all of this before you go out and install it. And if you have questions, leave it in the comments. There’s heaps of awesome people in our community who will help you. (By the way, if anyone can make a video on how to do this, let me know at psponlineinfo AT gmail DOT com. I’ll “fix” you up for it.)

DO NOT FLASH !!!! This theme is 100% uncompressed. Its only 3 MB it wont hurt the space on your memory card.

INSTALLATION : The [dot]RAR THEME files include (CXMB, PS3+ Theme, and folder structure already setup).
1. Uncompress the [dot]RAR, open a usb connection to the PSP MEMORY CARD.
a. Copy contents of “MEMORY CARD” (CXMB, SEPLUGINS) to the ROOT of your Memory Card
2. Restart the psp and enter recovery mode, Create a usb conection to flash0, and go to the module folder
a. Copy contents of the Themes flash0 VSHMAIN.prx and update_plugin.prx to /vsh/module/
a1. If your module folder is hidden you must set windows to unhide OS files.
b. While still in recovery, go to the plugins and ENABLE CXMB and Recovery, restart your PSP and enjoy the theme.

The recovery plugin is made by ketchup and has a built in screenshot plugin just hold the l-trigger and press note for a screenshot.

Now on to the THEME.

Ok. Maybe that’s not Dark_Alex.

But it’s official.

… We all owe Dark Alex… BIGTIME!

You see, as we told you earlier, Dark Alex has done cool totally awesome stuff again.

And these are the contents of the readme and download file which is given below

3.71 M33-3 changes:

• Fixed a bug in access to flash by usb.
• HEN core: kernel prx’s with syscall exports work again.
• PSP Slim: programmers can set the size of user memory to 52 MB by using a sfo flag. Check sample in sdk for usage.
• March33 NO-UMD driver:
  • Fixed a bug that could hang the psp when exiting with home.
  • Fixed compatibility issue with Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles, and maybe more games.
• Vshmenu: it wasn’t displaying properly with psp slim TV-OUT due to the change of resolution. Fixed.

PopsLoader changes:

• Support for 3.71 and 3.72 pops has been added. Note that 3.71 however will not appear in the list in 3.71 M33 as it is not necessary.
